About Our Organization

Brief History

New Umuaka Project (NUP), now New Umuaka Project Initiative (NUP-I), following its incorporation with Corporate Affairs Commission(CAC), Abuja, was formed in April 2017 after the burial of Chief Cyril Nwokorobia (Akunesiobike).

While planning for the burial, many Umuaka indigenes contributed immensely, and Chief Chris Akuzuruahu (Ezemmuo) and Dr Austin Agbahiwe muted the idea of bringing all Umuaka indigenes together using technology to better our society during our lifetime, in spite of the autonomous communities.

Meetings were subsequently held at Dr Austin Agbahiwe’s country home at Ibele Umuaka where NUP-I was born.

Five years after its formation, New Umuaka Project Initiative (NUP-I) metamorphosed into an umbrella body that initiates, plans, organizes and executes laudable community projects, human capital development and humanitarian projects through selfless contributions and voluntary services from its members drawn from the ten (10) autonomous communities in Umuaka.

The primary focus is using their three (3) Ts (Treasure, Time & Talent) for the development of the communities and the welfare of the people.
